Title: "Analytic Non-Integrability and Chaos in Gauge/Gravity duality"
Abstract:
We will present methods of analytic non-integrability in string theory and demonstrate how the chaos appear in gravity duals of several strongly coupled field theories. In particular we will show by examining string motion, that strongly coupled thermal gauge theories, non-relativistic theories, theories with unquenched flavor, and marginally deformed complex beta theories, are non-integrable and have chaotic observables. The analytic non-integrability analysis boils down to simple algebraic conditions of the parameters of the metric. Moreover, by exhibiting the Poincare sections and phase space trajectories of closed strings, we provide numerical evidence of the appearance of chaos. We compute the leading Lyapunov exponent to quantify the chaotic phenomena. Interestingly in the flavor backreacted theories it turns out to saturate to a positive value as the number of flavors increases, implying certain saturation effects on chaos.
