Speaker: Mr. Martini is currently in his last year as a Ph.D. student at University of Jena, Germany.

Abstract. Group Field Theories (GFTs) represent a generalization of the Quantum Field Theory formalism where the background is the group manifold of some chosen group and the interaction is combinatorially non-local. Because of these two peculiarities, this class of models turns out to be a very promising description of discrete geometry and, thus, a candidate for quantum gravity. It is natural to wonder whether the phase diagram arising in GFTs exhibits a phase characterized by a continuous geometry. In order to investigate this feature we employ a non-perturbative formulation of the renormalization group known as Functional Renormalization Group (FRG). After giving an introduction to GFTs and FRG I will highlight some peculiarities due to the non-locality of the models under consideration and show some simple result concerning their fixed point structure.
