OIST Science Speed Dating

No Valentines plan this year? Don’t worry! Who needs cheap flowers and unhealthy chocolates when you’ve got science instead?

This Friday, the OIST Researcher Community is putting on a Science Speed Dating event! Romance isn’t the goal here – instead the ORC want to give OISTers the opportunity to reach out and meet their fellow scientists on campus, and find out about what everyone else is up to in our labs. It’s a great opportunity to exchange research ideas, build foundations for collaboration as well as get some practice for networking out in the wider world.

The rules are just like speed dating: you have 2 minutes to introduce each other your topic of research, after which you will switch to a new partner. After everyone has met each other, there will be a free discussion.

It takes place in the President’s House near the top of South Hill, this Friday at 18:30. Basic catering is provided, but everyone is free to bring their own food along.

So, what are you waiting for? Sign up, show up, and who knows? Maybe you’ll find someone special and make beautiful science together!

Basic catering will be offered but everyone is free to bring their own food/beverage.

Registration using the online form will be appreciated but is not mandatory.
