(Cancelled) Title: Machine Learning for the welfare of the society

Abstract: What if AI was not just a tool, but a reflection of human creativity itself?
Marcus Liwicki – and a surprise guest from the future – will attend explore how AI can become a powerful tool for everyone.
Join them on a journey through time to discover how curiosity and hands-on learning can unlock the full potential of human-centered AI – today, tomorrow, and beyond.
Furthermore, Marcus will highlight some general AI research directions and focus in Sweden as well as a few highlights from the gender-balanced Machine Learning group at LTU, which he leads as chaired professor.

Marcus Liwicki, Professor In Machine Learning, Luleå University Of Technology

Marcus Liwicki is a chaired professor in Machine Learning and vice-rector for AI at Luleå University of Technology, Sweden. He has been pioneering deep learning research since 2005 – long before the field’s explosive growth – and at age 32, he became the youngest recipient of the International Association for Pattern Recognition’s Young Investigator Award.
