The OIST Center for Quantum Technologies (OCQT) is delighted to invite you to the following seminar.
Speaker:
Noriaki Horiuchi, PhD
Affiliation: Senior Editor, Springer Nature, Japan
Title:
What Nature Photonics looks for
Abstract:
Nature-branded journals (such as Nature, Nature Photonics, Nature Physics, etc.) are some of the most prestigious and important scientific publications in the world today. To maintain the quality and high impact factor of each journal, the editors rigorously select papers that provide conceptual or technological breakthrough according to stringent acceptance criteria and a unique reviewing process. In this talk, I will explain the general criteria for getting published in Nature Photonics and provide some advice for submission. This information should also be helpful when submitting to other Nature-branded journals, as they share a similar review process and acceptance criteria.
Bio
Noriaki Horiuchi joined Nature Photonics in September 2009. He started his research at Waseda University, Tokyo. In 1992, he went to study in France after receiving a scholarship from the French Government. Collaborating with Laboratoire de Minéralogie et Cristallographie of Université Paris 6 and France Télécom, Noriaki obtained his PhD in 1999 from Université Joseph Fourier, Grenoble. Following a postdoctoral researcher's position at Toyota Technological Institute, he worked as a researcher at RIKEN from 2002 to 2009. His research interests are in the fields of nonlinear optics, crystal growth and photonic crystals. Noriaki is based in the Tokyo office.
