Title: "Organic Synthesis Using Abundant Resources"
Abstract: The development of technologies to utilize the earth-abundant metal and organic resources without relying on scarce resources is essential for the sustainable development of modern society. This presentation introduces our recent efforts towards this goal; we have developed sustainable organic synthesis using sodium dispersion, a Mo/quinone species for the diazo-free generation of carbene species from stable and readily available compounds such as carbonyl compounds and cyclopropanes, and a SpiroBpy ligand that enables the site-selective functionalization of arenes under remote steric control.
