Earth Day and Easter in the same week? We can’t think of a better time to bring the community together by cleaning the beach! This month we will be cleaning one of our important nesting beaches, Malibu Beach at 10am.

It’s officially sea turtle nesting season and we are expecting our first nest any day now! Earth is their home too so let’s do our best to keep it clean. We hope to see you there!

Spontaneous Beach Cleaning Week [11-18 January]

Tancha beach is in a really sad state after the stormy seas washing up lots of trash. 

If you are looking for an excuse to be outdoors, please consider going to Tancha to help clean the shore! You can always go anytime you like, for as long or as short as you like, just leave what you find near the carpark at the bottom of the OIST hill! Spontaneous cleaning without previous planning with Onna Village Office is fine, just tell the resource centre afterwards where you left your collection! If you don't have beach cleaning bags to hand you can also use normal garbage bags. And if you don't have any bags handy, you can always pick up the large floats and leave those off the beach (especially the polystyrene ones). Every little bit helps! Spread the word!
