Description

After the dramatic change of events in the past six months, countries around the world are taking initial steps to reopen and adjust to the “new normal.” No sector has a bigger stake in getting the balance right for reopening and maintaining safety than that of higher education institutions (HEI). College campuses around the world are grappling with the question of if and how to open again. Needless to say, these questions hold tremendous economic value and societal significance for millions of people such as domestic and international students, faculty, administrators, and members of local communities.

International education exchange has been a critical component for HEIs for not only financial reasons but also for students to develop an interest and deeper understanding about the world. How can we continue to emphasize and foster the importance of maintaining international education exchange in higher education as we shift to more online formats? Join us for a discussion with our panelists to think together and engage in a discussion about this topic and how it affects higher education in the United States, Japan, and the Philippines.

Panelists:

Dr. J. Prospero de Vera, Chairman, CHED-Philippines

Dr. Misaki Takabayashi, Vice Dean, Graduate School Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology

Prof. Shingo Ashizawa, Faculty Member, Tokyo University

Mr. Lee Rubenstein, Vice President of Business Development, edX
