Title: Different Production Methods for Collagen Nanofibers and Research Activities @ IMU, Kazanci Nanoscience Research Lab.

Speaker: Prof. Murat Kazanci

Affiliation: Istanbul Medeniyet University

Abstract:

In this talk, different collagen nanofiber production methods, namely, electrospinning, and self-assembly of collagen fibers will be introduced and discussed. Extraction methods of collagen from tendon and skin to be used in nanofiber production process will be introduced. The robustness and advantages of the production methods will be discussed. The possible effects of reproduction methods, processes on the native structure and the comparison of collagen fibrils will be presented by using different characterization techniques such as Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), FTIR and Circular Dichroism (CD) methods.
