[Geometry, Topology and Dynamics Seminar] Ramified covering maps of spheres and arboreal polygons by Dr. Michael Kapovich (UC Davis)

Abstract: I will explain what are the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a ramified covering map of 2-spheres with prescribed ramification data and why do these conditions match the existence conditions for polygons in simplicial trees with the given side-lengths.
