Abstract:
With resources dwindling and environmental pollutants increasing, the rapid integration of sustainable infrastructure could be bring a turning point. Integrated Open Systems Unit is engaged in designing, implementing and facilitating socio-economic ecosystems based on scaleable, bottom up infrastructure, that allows for sustainable support of our current life style. In fact, our unit has spent the last five years realizing such a sustainable living architecture on the OIST campus in collaboration with companies from mainland Japan as well as Okinawa. I will give a short overview on the projects involved and the current status of the overall vision.
