[Seminar] "Rayleigh-Taylor turbulent cascades" by Prof. Guido Boffetta

Abstract:
The small scale statistics of turbulent convection generated by Rayleigh-Taylor instability is discussed on the basis of theoretical and numerical results. In particular the possibility to observe Kolmogorov or Bolgiano scaling will be examined in connection with the dimensionality of the flow. 
The effect of small-scale statistics on the heat transport at large scale will also be addressed.
