Description

Title: Optimal Regularity for the 2D Euler Equations in the Yudovich Class

Abstract: We analyze the optimal regularity that is exactly propagated by a transport equation driven by a velocity field with BMO gradient. As an application, we study the 2D Euler equations in cases where the initial vorticity is bounded. This talk is based on joint work with David Meyer and Christian Seis.

Speaker's short bio: Nicola De Nitti earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics, summa cum laude, from FAU Erlangen–Nürnberg in July 2023 under the supervision of Enrique Zuazua. He was a Postdoctoral Researcher in Maria Colombo's group at EPFL from September 2023 to March 2025.
