Ahead of the spring 2025 opening of the YIL (Yagami Innovation Laboratory), which will bring a fresh breeze to education and research, OIST-KEIO will host an exchange event! Tom Froese, Assistant Professor leading the Embodied Cognitive Science Unit, will discuss how the human mind is shaped by interactions with "agents" such as avatars and robots, as well as with the environment. He will share insights from his research and discuss future directions.

The UK Ageing Network (UKAN), a consortium of 11 interdisciplinary networks dedicated to understanding the biological mechanisms of ageing and their impact on human health, is pleased to announce an upcoming event hosted by OIST. This event will feature representatives from three key UKAN networks: CELLO, BLAST, and SMiHA.

Since 2019, OIST and Keio University have been collaborating in various ways: initially with the School of Medicine, accepting research interns, and hosting a series of showcase talks to learn about each other's research. The International Research Summer Camp is planned to be held at OIST for Keio undergraduate medical school students as a part of our efforts to strengthen our educational collaboration. The summer camp is a valuable opportunity for undergraduate medical students to experience hands-on basic research, under the guidance of outstanding researchers from around the world in a global and interdisciplinary environment.
