OIST Café
~ What is Science Communication in English? ~
Communication skills are essential both in business and academia in a global society. OIST Café is a seminar focused on Science Communication for students majoring in science and engineering. The instructor will be an Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST) English instructor, Kevin Hunt, who has been offering English classes to OIST students, researchers as well as the administrators. A manager of the Biology Resources section in OIST will also share his experiences as a former group leader of G0 Cell Unit at OIST and his job as a section leader in the Biology Resources section that manages research equipment and provides OIST researchers with numorous trainings. There will be a "Mixer event" after the seminar and talk, where you will be given the opportunity to speak with OIST staff about OIST's PhD program, research activities or English learning methods, etc. Please come to OIST Café if you wish to improve your communication skills in English or if you would like to become an international scientist!
