SDG Initiative Program

The United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the world's urgent call to action to build a more sustainable future that works for both people and the planet. In response to the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and in recognition of our hometown Onna Village being selected as one of Japan’s “SDGs Future Cities”, OIST launched a university-wide sustainability initiative in 2021 within the framework of 17 sustainable development goals. Donations can be designated to specific projects listed under this initiative, or be general to encourage new ideas, spread learning, and expand collaboration for sustainability.
