Seminar on legal control when importing/possessing biological samples 生物試料の輸入・所持規制に関するセミナー

A seminar on legal control when importing/possessing biological samples will be held with speakers from Animal Quarantine Service Okinawa Branch Office and Naha Plant Protection Station.

The importation and possession of many biological samples are regulated by the Act on the Prevention of Infectious Diseases in Livestock and the Plant Protection Act. These regulated samples include VSV and termite which are used for fundamental research, and serum, soils, and other items that at first glance appear to be exempt from regulation.

In this seminar, the speakers will explain the purpose for which import/possession biological materials are regulated, which biological samples are regulated, and what legal procedures are required when importing or holding regulated biological samples focusing on regulations of the above acts.

Everyone is welcome to attend the seminar. Especially, those who handle/will handle biological samples, those who are engaged in research support are highly encouraged to attend the seminar.

Lectures will be given in Japanese with simultaneous interpretation in English.

動物検疫所沖縄支所及び那覇植物防疫事務所から講師を招いて、生物試料の輸入・所持規制に関するセミナーを開催します。

多くの生物試料は、家畜伝染病予防法や植物防疫法によってその輸入や保持が規制されています。その中には、VSVやシロアリなど基礎研究に用いられる物や血清や土壌など一見すると規制対象外と思われる物も含まれます。

今回のセミナーでは、前述の法規制に焦点をあてて、生物試料がどのような目的のために輸入・所持規制されているのか、どのような生物試料が輸入・所持規制されているのか、規制対象生物試料を輸入するときや保持するときはどのような法的手続きが必要なのか等について、外部講師から説明していただきます。
