Title: Collisions of multiple random walks
Abstract: The problem of understanding how frequently two or more (independent) random walks collide has attracted considerable interest. A fundamental issue is determining whether a given number of random walks collide infinitely often or not on a particular graph. In this talk, I will survey various work concerning the infinite collision property for two random walks, and also describe a recent work (joint with Umberto De Ambroggio) that sheds light on the situation for three random walks. In particular, we show a phase transition between infinite collisions and finite collisions for three random walks on a certain comb graph as a parameter describing the size of the "teeth" is adjusted suitably.
