OIST–AIST Career Development Project: Step 1

Explore Research & Career Paths in Japan!

As part of the collaboration between OIST and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), the two institutions have launched a Career Development Project to support students and researchers in exploring career opportunities in Japan.

The project includes a series of activities—such as career seminars, lab tours at AIST, and internships—designed especially for those considering research careers in Japan, including potential positions at AIST.

In this first step, quantum researchers from AIST’s Global Research and Development Center for Business by Quantum-AI Technology (G-QuAT) will present their research and join a career Q&A session.
All interested participants are warmly encouraged to attend!

Session 1: Research Presentations
Researchers from AIST will introduce their cutting-edge work in the quantum field.

Session 2: Career Q&A Session
Participants will break into small groups and have the opportunity to ask AIST researchers about:
• Careers at AIST
• Research life in Japan
• Job-hunting strategies for scientists in Japan

Who Should Join?

• OIST PhD Students and Postdocs
• Note 1: Participants from all research fields are welcome
• Note 2: Attending only Session 1 is also perfectly fine
