Abstract

Today’s machines bring together a wide range of different technologies to operate effectively. Such an integration is now normal and expected. Mobile phones contain gryos, magnetometers, accelerometers etc. In this brief review I will discuss Hybrid quantum systems where one brings together different types of quantum systems to achieve new funcationalities not possible with an individual system alone. We will discuss optical-microwave interfaces, ultra-strong coupled systems, spin squeezing, magnetometry and our recent work on demonstrating Unruh radiation in the lab.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the sminar!
