Abstract

During cryo-EM data collection it is advantageous to track image analytics and current performance metrics of the microscope. We are currently developing a web browser-based data tool, "EMWATCH", to display live data points for every relevant metric. The tool derives per-microscope project analytics data on-the-fly. Based on each individual parameter, a composite quality score is calculated for each time segment during collection, offering a clear snapshot of all essential metrics.

Primarily, EMWATCH is aimed at EM facility staff and EM operators alike, providing instant overview as well as in-depth insights into any aspect of the current and historical cryo-EM performance. The program runs autonomously in the background, and does not require additional user input. In combination with our live file transfer tool, EMSYNC, it functions as a powerful quality gate, ensuring that only high quality raw micrographs are being synced, stored and archived.
