Description

Speaker:

Dr. Yuki Inada, Associate Professor , Saitama University.

Title:

Laser-Aided Diagnostic Technology for Discharge Plasma

Abstract:

Discharge plasma has diverse application fields in industries, the environment, energy, medicine, and agriculture. To optimize these existing technologies and create new application fields, it is necessary to accurately understand the properties of the discharge plasma based on the measurement. However, the discharge plasma shows rapid, dynamic, sometimes non-reproducible spatiotemporal evolution. Therefore, the measurement of the discharge plasma properties is generally difficult. This seminar introduces the state-of-art of laser-aided diagnostic technology providing the spatiotemporally resolved dynamics of the electron density, electric field, and turbulence, which are essential elements for the fundamental understanding of the discharge plasma. The seminar contents include the details on the measurement principle, sensor properties, and the governing mechanisms behind the discharge plasma.
