Seminar Title:
' Nonclassicality of optical fields and quantum optomechanics '

Seminar Abstract:
Foundations of quantum theory are known for several decades, but the relation to classical physics is still an interesting area of current research. Notion of nonclassicality (e. g., antibunching of photons, sub-Poissonian photon statistics, and quadrature squeezing) caused long-lasting discussions and play an important role in quantum information processing.
We discuss different version of nonclassicality of radiation. Quantum opto-mechanics provides an exciting framework to investigate the interaction of light and the collective motion of bulk mechanical systems in the quantum regime. We discuss theoretical model of quantum optomechanics and possibility to exploit massive mechanical systems for the preparation of quantum states and the achievement of non-classical features.
