Ai Oyafuso works with human rights of black Okinawan people. In particular, she is concerned about the discrimination against children born between Uchinanchu and U.S. military.

Shinako Oyakawa is a part-time lecturer at Okinawa University and co-chair of Association of Comprehensive Studies for Independence of the Lew Chewans (ACSILs). She will share updates on her work, including ACSILs participation in recent UN forums.
Moderator: Ayano Ginoza is an associated professor at the University of the Ryukyus and the editor for the Okinawan Journal of Island Studies. Her research looks at women's peace movements in Okinawa and the Asia-Pacific regions. She is currently co-editing Detours: A Decolonial Guide to Okinawa.
