Setting a pin code to protect your personal information on your driver's license
Q1. What is it for?
- It is to protect your personal information on an IC chip which will be embedded in your Japanese driver's license. anyone can access your personal information by inserting your driver's license into the machine installed in the Driver's License Center.

Q2. What numbers can I set as my pin code?
- Any combination of numbers from 0 to 9 as long as the combination is NOT any part of your birthday or phone number.
Q3. What if I do not want to set a pin code?
- If you do not want to set a pin code, you will be asked to give your signature to show that you've agreed not to set a set a pin code.
