Location: OIST Village Center Meeting Room

Participation is free of charge.

Come and build your own virtual reality headset out of cardboard.  No skills or tools required, but bring a smartphone with Cardboard compatible software on it. See http://www.wrongdoing.org/cardboard-links.html for links to lists of apps.

Colin Rowat, an active participant in the UK Maker scene, and his sons have volunteered to lead the workshop. We will put the cardboard VR headsets together, try them out, and discuss content.  Colin and the boys have run Cardboard workshops at EMF Camp in the UK this past summer and Tokyo Hackerspace in February. The photos show the boys helping workshop participants assemble their headsets.

We're using Unofficial Cardboard kits, and we will have 15 Classic and 5 Large kits available, so please sign up at the OIST Maker Club Virtual Reality Workshop Signup Form to make sure you get a kit that fits your phone. Each kit costs 2000 JPY, which you can pay at the event.
