Description

Science communication is not just about presenting information; it is about making complex ideas accessible, engaging, and meaningful to diverse audiences. Art and design play a crucial role in bridging the gap between scientific research and public understanding, transforming technical concepts into compelling visual narratives.

This talk explores the intersection of art, design, and science communication through the work of Roshni Rebecca Samuel, a graphic designer, artist, and illustrator at the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS) in India. Drawing from her experience in visual communication, she will discuss how posters, typography, illustration, color, composition, fundamental design principles and outreach can be used to simplify scientific information without compromising its accuracy.

Ultimately, the talk aims to demonstrate that design is not merely a tool for making science look appealing, but a powerful medium for making science more understandable, memorable, and accessible to everyone.
