Description

Are you interested in gaining a deeper understanding of your workplace, a graduate university, a research university, the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology? This series offer you opportunities to explore more about the essence of science, researcher’s activities, university’s research support system and structure, Japan’s science & technology policy and OIST’s history.

Whether your daily responsibilities are closely tied to research activities or you rarely interact with researchers, you can cultivate your understanding and perspective of science, technology, and universities.

As an institute dedicated to science and technology, OIST’s research activities form its core. But how exactly does research work? Which structures of university support them? How do scientists manage the pressures and responsibilities of their work? Gaining this knowledge can broaden your outlook, enhance your awareness about your role and responsibility, improve workflows, and foster better communication and collaboration across divisions and sections.

This interactive study session series provides a space where you can freely ask questions. The presenter will break down key concepts into clear, accessible explanations, while the facilitator will help highlight important points and address fundamental questions. The more questions participants ask, the richer the discussion and deeper the insights. Ultimately, your questions contribute to the depth of exploration together with your colleagues.

This online series will be hosted via Zoom, making it accessible from anywhere. The four-part series (60 minutes per session) has been updated and refined to ensure returning participants continue to discover fresh insights. We look forward to your participation!
