Description
Speaker: Mr. Ryusei Maeda is a 3rd year undergratuate student at University of Tokyo and is currently visiting OIST as a research intern.
Abstract: In this presentation, we first define fiber bundles with some crucial components such as the base space, fibers and the structure group. One important example of fiber bundles for our application in physics is the principal bundle. We next develop some abstract notions such as connections on principal bundles, parallel transports and curvatures. Gauge fields are described as the pullbacked connection by local sections from a principal bundle onto the space-time. We also discuss gauge transformations.
