Workshop Application

To apply for the workshop, please fill in the form below.

Note that all participant accommodation is in twin-shared rooms at Seaside House, the cost of which is covered by OIST. If you are accepted to attend and do not want to share a twin room (with bathroom) with another participant you will have to book and pay for your own accommodation and daily transport to the workshop venue, on OIST's main campus. The workshop secretariat will be able to advise you on hotels in the immediate region.

Partial funding support for flights may be provided to those who need it.

Once you have pressed the submit button, please wait until you get a page acknowledging your submission. You should also get an email confirming that the submission has been successful within an hour.

Applications are now closed.

As space is limited, participants will be selected and notified by the organisers in February 2023.

Travel Support

Participants are encouraged to try to support their travel costs to Okinawa themselves, or through their research grant at their home institute.

Flights: We will offer a number of travel bursaries to partially cover the cost of a round trip to Okinawa. Participants will book their own tickets and get reimbursed. Stop-overs are allowed. Please only apply for this funding if you do not have other means of funding covering the cost of your flight.

Accommodation: We offer shared rooms only at OIST Seaside house, which is free of charge.  If you prefer non-shared accommodation, we advise you to make your own arrangement.
