Description

The NanoJapan: International Research Experience for Undergraduates Program (IREU) is a twelve-week summer program that enables freshman and sophomore physics and engineering students from U.S. universities to complete nanoscience research internships in Japan. The program aims to increase the number of U.S. students who pursue graduate study in nanoscience and cultivate a generation of globally aware engineers and scientists who are prepared for international research collaboration. Since the program was established in 2006, 118 students from 41 US universities have participated in the NanoJapan IREU.

In addition to the research internship, participants get together at a Mid-Program Meeting in the middle of their visit to see a new cultural and academic environment in Japan. Since 2013, the NanoJapan Mid Program Meeting has been held at OIST in Okinawa. Please welcome the NanoJapan students during their visit to OIST on the 4th of July as they tour campus and our research labs to get to know us and our unique research evironment.
