Title: Visuomotor Learning for Achieving Cognitive Robot Behaviors
Abstract:
An ability to integrate information from multiple sensory devices is one of the fundamental features of the brain, and it plays a crucial role in acquiring higher-level cognitive functions. In this talk, I'll introduce our approach to build cognitive robots capable of learning from its own sensorimotor experience. First, I'll present how we use deep learning techniques in our studies. Then, I'll present some of the findings from our neurorobotics experiments. We found that the robot was able to learn some visuomotor skills and to generalize them to novel situations. Also, our analysis showed that the model developed a set of cognitive functions, such as visual perception, working memory, and mental simulation.
