OIST Café
~ What is Statement of Purpose? ~
For students who are aiming for academic careers and jobs overseas, writing a statement of purpose is inevitable.
Although it is one of the very important documents to submit, there are many students who don’t know how to write it properly. In this second OIST Café, Mr. Kevin Hunt, the full-time English teacher at Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST) will guide you to write an effective statement of purpose. Dr. Mizuki Shimanuki, the manager of Biology Resources Section at OIST will talk about his career as a research support staff who bridges researchers and administration, and make researches and experiments smooth in an international graduate university. He will also share his experience as a group leader, which is his former career. After the sessions, you can join the mixer event where you can feel free to ask about OIST PhD program, research activities, concerns on learning English, etc. Please come to OIST Café if you would like to become an international scientist!
