[Webinar] International Approaches to Climate Change Planning and Adaptation in the Built and Natural Environments

Earlier this year, the Union of Concerned Scientists warned that “Stopping Climate Change is Not Enough”. According to this article, climate impacts in the US amounted to $100 billion in 2020 (twice as much as in the prior year) and are affecting our health, homes, jobs, communities and natural heritage.

In an effort to help communities take stock of existing climate adaptation resources toward mobilizing and building upon them, this exciting webinar will feature three international approaches to climate change planning and adaptation in the built and natural environments, namely:
- Climate risk planning for electric generation transmission and distribution infrastructure across Hawaiian Electric Companies' coverage area
- Christchurch, New Zealand’s multi-hazard assessment for long-term planning that is informing decision-making on future infrastructure planning and construction
- Research on Okinawa’s marine habitat’s response to climate change and shoreline development

Presenters include:
