Description
This is a short mini-course on basics of fluid mechanics given from a modern perspective. It describes fluid flows as an arena for the eternal struggle between inertia and friction. By focusing on the forces acting on a body in a fluid, one sees origin of modern notions of renormalization, symmetry breaking and anomalies. This mini-course is for those who do not know the subject and for those who think they do.
