This Mini Course will introduce you to a cutting edge application of this high-level programming language .

Julia is a high-level , high-performance programming language designed to address the needs of computational science as well as to be effective for general purpose use. It aims to rival C and Fortran in terms of speed. It is an excellent alternative to MATLAB or Python in terms of syntax.

Before the vision of death flickers over us, tempting us with false solutions, let's think about how to draw out and use our resilience.

We will proceed with a dialogue. A dialogue between you and me. And as we listen to each other, have a dialogue with our own hearts.

Graduated from Tokushima University School of Medicine.

Worked at Tokyo Metropolitan Matsuzawa Hospital and Okinawa Prefectural Seiwa Hospital. Opened Nagata Clinic (psychosomatic medicine) in Naha City in 2001.

He has focused his activities on psychotherapy, including introspective therapy, hypnotherapy, group therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-oriented approach, and positive psychology. He is actively learning counseling techniques and is applying his experience in clinical treatment and social activities.

Shinichi Aizawa is Professor Emeritus at the Prefectural University of Hiroshima currently visiting OIST through the Visiting Program (TSVP). He is considered one of the world’s foremost experts in the structure and function of bacterial flagella. His contributions to solving flagellar polymorphism are very highly regarded, and his book “The Flagellar World” has become a standard textbook in the field.

5th Japan SciCom Forum (JSF) Conference will be held on November 21-22, 2023 at the OIST. The benefits include interacting with people who bring different viewpoints, expertise and experiences to the table. However, the challenges include communicating effectively with people who have different backgrounds and dealing constructively with conflict due to different viewpoints. The workshop will explore how diversity in a team can strengthen it, different approaches to dealing with conflict, how to have a “difficult conversation” with both peers and your supervisor, and strategies for avoiding communications problems. Take home tools to improve your team skills will be provided.
