Lunchtime TV Screening "Protecting Corals with Genetic Technology"

In 2011, Professor Noriyuki Satoh and his team decoded the genome of coral. Since then, he has remained deeply passionate about coral research, while continuing to explore the development and evolution of various marine organisms. He developed an environmental DNA (eDNA) technique to analyze coral DNA from surface seawater, launched the OIST Coral Project, and has been actively involved in coral reef conservation efforts in Okinawa.

A TV program that highlights Professor Satoh’s coral research journey was recently aired on NHK World's Science View.
