Facebook group
https://www.facebook.com/groups/TanchaBeachCleaning
A page for OISTers and the community to organise beach cleanups mainly in the Tancha area.
A few things to note:
- Volunteer beach cleaning bags can be collected at the Onna village office on the 2nd floor.
- The bags are the same, but the waste has to be separated:
1. Burnable (e.g., clothes, food waste, plastic bottles, paper, plastics)
2. Non-Burnable and Cans (e.g., tin cans, razors, bottle caps, ceramic dishes, lighters, mirrors. Wrap sharp items in paper if possible).
3. Glass Bottles (e.g., beer, wine, liquor bottles; jam, food jars).
4. Hazardout Materials (e.g., light bulbs, batteries, mercury thermometers, needles, syringes, ampoules).
5. Big trash that cannot fit in a bag can be left with other trash bags.
- The Onna village office can collect bags visible from the roadside when called. We normally do this via the resource centre.
- When calling the village office, they need to know the location and number of bags to collect.
