"The Green-ILC project: towards sustainable particle colliders" Denis Perret-Gallix

Date

Friday, May 22, 2015 - 13:30 to 15:00

Location

C015, Lab 1

Description

Speaker:
Prof. Denis Perret-Gallix
LAPP/IN2P3/CNRS and KEK

Abstract:
The Green-ILC project is concerned with the ILC and any future accelerator/collider energy consumption. CERN when LHC is running draws from the grid as much as half of the Geneva 500,000 residents.Similar consumption is expected from ILC for the first 500 GeV phase and almost twice as much for the 1TeV phase . The project is aiming at how to save, recover and recycle energy and how to implement sustainable energy sources to power ILC and large scale research/industrial infrastructures.
