Biosafety and Biosecurity Seminar 2025

We are pleased to announce that the Biosafety and Biosecurity Seminar 2025 will be held as follows:

This year, we are honored to welcome Dr. Nariyoshi Shinomiya, former President of the National Defense Medical College. He will give a lecture on biosafety and biosecurity in cutting-edge life sciences, including topics such as synthetic biology and gain-of-function research, as well as dual-use concerns.

Dr. Shinomiya is a globally active expert in biosafety and biosecurity. He also serves as a program advisor for JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency), among other roles.

This seminar is co-hosted by the Occupational Health and Safety Section and the Rules and Compliance Section, focusing on proper research practices and security export control.
