[Abstract]
Tropical cyclones are magnificent phenomena in our atmosphere that can also wreak havoc on societies around the world. This two-part short course will introduce you to the science of tropical cyclones. The first part will discuss the basic physics and energetics of the tropical cyclone. The second part will discuss the nature of tropical cyclone activity within the Earth's climate system and how it may change in the future.
