I will review the ancient lore about the Euclidean GR action and black hole thermodynamics. Then I'll talk about my work from a few years ago, in which very similar lore was discovered within an overlooked imaginary part of the Loretnzian GR action. I'll present some obvious speculations relating this to the entanglement conjecture.
