Description
The purpose of the school will be to introduce graduate students to foundational results in commutative algebra, with particular emphasis of the diversity of the related topics with commutative algebra. Some of these topics are developing remarkably in this decade and through learning those subjects the graduate students will be stimulated toward future research.
Theme
Commutative Algebra and Related Topics (official language: English)
Lecturers
1st week: Claudia Polini (U.Notre Dame), Ryo Takahashi (Nagoya U.)
2nd week: Claudiu Raicu (U.Notre Dame), Shunsuke Takagi (U.Tokyo)
Daily schedule
Two lectures (in the morning and in the early afternoon) and one exercise afterward.
For the exercise the students will be split into two groups (beginners’ and advanced).

Applicants will be accepted from three categories:

How to apply
Students of OIST should email the Japanese Office (Noriko Segawa, nk-sgw@lab.twcu.ac.jp) providing the following information:
- Name of applicant
- Name of university and your email-address
- Year in graduate school
- Short recommendation letter by your advisor
As for “4.”, the recommendation letter could be sent directly from your advisor to the Japanese Office.
