Public Lecture: ADHD impacts on everyone, individuals themselves, parents and families: Let not just focus on burden but emerging solutions

Description

This talk is aimed at parents and grandparents of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ADHD as well as teachers and professionals who may work with children with ADHD.  The Talk will explore the impact of ADHD on everyone, exploring how ADHD may impact on the child themselves, but also on their siblings on their family and wider society including the health economic costs of ADHD.   After highlighting the impact of ADHD the talk will conclude with a discussion of how the impact of ADHD can be reduced both for the child but also the family and conclude with the results of a pilot study  conducted at OIST that explored how best to support mothers of children with ADHD.
