This session is in Japanese. The session will start with OIST general introduction, PhD and Research Internship admission process, financial support and student life. Speakers

Makiko Emori (PhD student at the pi-Conjugated Polymers Unit)

Born in Fukui, I received my bachelor's degree from Niigata University in 2022. During my master's program at the same university, I had the opportunity to participate in a research internship at OIST, which led me to join the PhD program here in 2023. I’m currently conducting research on semiconducting polymers in the π-Conjugated Polymers Unit, under the supervision of Prof. Christine Luscombe. If you're interested in the internship experience or student life at OIST, please feel free to reach out.

Shuhei Hara (PhD student at the Neural Computation Unit)

I am originally from Goto islands in Nagasaki. I completed an internship at OIST in 2019 and earned my bachelor’s degree at Waseda University in 2020. At the Neural Computation Unit, I am currently working on fMRI analyses of data from schizophrenia patients, aiming to uncover the biological and computational mechanisms. In my free time, I enjoy running and basketball in Okinawa.
