OIST Café in Tokyo (3rd November 2023)
On November 3rd, OIST staff and alumni from OIST (Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology) will come to Tokyo to answer all your questions about the PhD & Research Internship admission process, support for students as well as student life at OIST.
We are currently offering a fully-funded 5-year PhD program as well as a 2-6 months research internship for students in bachelor or master programs in STEM fields, but students from all disciplines and nationalities are welcome to join us for the information session.
During the information session you will be equipped with an overview of OIST in general, our admissions process for the PhD & Research Internship as well as the support we offer to our students. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session that is dedicated to answering your questions about studying at OIST.
If you are interested about conducting research in a truly diverse and interdisciplinary environment and learning more about application requirements, the admissions process or what studying at OIST is like, please join us for the information session on November 3rd.
For those students interested in participating at the Science Challenge, Chihiro Kushida, a previous Science Challenge participant will join us for this session and share her experiences from the workshop.
The session will be facilitated in English and Japanese.

Chihiro Kushida (OIST Science Challenge 2023 Alumni)
Buongiorno! I am a third-year undergraduate student at Saitama University, studying neuroscience and anatomy. I have experience studying abroad for a year at the University of Turin in Italy. I like fossils, playing the piano and baci di dama (Italian cookies.) I also had the opportunity to participate in the OIST Science Challenge 2023. I am excited to share my experiences from the program at the OIST Cafe!
