Welcome to Collective Interactions@OIST. We are an experimental group with primary interests in nonlinear, non-equilibrium, and soft matter physics, both applied and fundamental. Our work often intersects with applied mathematics, mechanics, and their application to biologically inspired problems. Our current focus is trained towards problems in statistical hydrodynamics (turbulence and interfacial flows), amorphous media (granular solids and two dimensional aggregates), biomechanics (limbs and appendages such as fins and feet), and the statistical physics of renewable energy (wind power and solar photovoltaic fluctuations).
