Postdoctoral positions are currently available only via application for external fellowship (JSPS).

Applicants for postdoctoral positions should hold a PhD degree in Chemistry and have experience in organometallic chemistry, homogeneous catalysis or polymer chemistry. The postdoctoral candidates should send their CV (including the list of publications) and cover letter to juliak at oist.jp. Letters of recommendation will be requested for competitive candidates. The postdoctoral candidates are highly encouraged to apply for external funding from JSPS and other funding agencies when applicable.

Applicants for research intern positions are accepted at BSc, MSc and PhD levels for periods from 2.5 months to 6 months. The students currently enrolled in BSc or MSc programs should apply directly from OIST Research Internship website:

Students who are currently enrolled in a PhD program at a different university can also apply for research internship (after obtaining permission from their current supervisor) by sending their CV and motivation letter to juliak at oist.jp.

The technician position is currently unavailable, but may be reopened in late 2021 or 2022. The candidates intersted in the long-term stay at the technician position may still apply. The main responsibilities include maintaining chemical inventory in order, ordering basic lab supplies, with a possibility to work on a research project; at least B.Sc. degree in chemistry is required, preferably with synthetic lab experience.
