Video conferencing is increasingly becoming an essential service for OIST, where rich communication and collaboration are important to our success. That’s why we have revamped our video conferencing services, making it easier for you to use the technology and integrate it into your daily work.
We are announcing a new video conferencing service, Zoom, which is available to faculty, students, and staff. It replaces WebEx, which will no longer be offered after July 1.
We encourage you to give this new tool a try. We’re confident you’re going to like it.
Instructions for performing most common Zoom tasks, are available on the Zoom video conferencing groups page.
We will hold 2 info/training sessions with basics on how to use this new video conferencing environment:

Zoom Basics training includes:
- requesting account
- how to install the Zoom Client app
- scheduling from the web portal
- in-session controls
- Zoom Outlook Plug-In
- using Cisco / Zoom Rooms
- information on further Zoom support
Please register by April 19 to attend and learn how easy it is to take advantage of this video conferencing environment. We also plan to hold monthly or bimonthly Zoom open office hours to help you with your video conference needs.
