In this workshop, OIST geologist Mirona Chirienco will guide participants in exploring the rocks and minerals of Okinawa. Rocks and minerals have long been used in many aspects of life in Okinawa, including in architectural structures — but what do they look like under a microscope?
Let’s dive into the microscopic world of rocks and minerals and discover their hidden secrets with an OIST scientist!
Date and Time: Saturday, Jult 25, 14:30 - 16:30
Venue: OIST Science Studio (Inside the Yomitan Public Library)
Target Participant: 5th graders and 6th graders in elementary school
Language: English and Japanese (Consecutive interpretation will be provided)
